Angry Dealer/Jaguar Parts Availability - Sunroof Woes

In early 2013 a small plastic part on my sunroof runner broke. Still under a 3rd party warranty, I went to my dealer to have the sunroof fixed/replaced. They couldn't fix/replace the plastic runner piece so had to order an entire replacement sunroof assembly.
Now 14 months later, they still can't source the part from Jaguar - who in turn can't get the part manufactured as they apparently don't have a supplier/manufacturer. I've been back and forth with Jaguar Customer Relations (North America) for 12 months but all I'm getting is another date commitment, after previous missed date commitments.
Anyone else have difficulties? And if so, how did you get Jaguar to resolve?
The S-Type went out of production in 2008. I'm shocked that 5 years after that (in 2013 when this began) that they can't produce or stock parts.
Any ideas/advice how I can escalate this within Jaguar and get them to pull their fingers out? The Customer Relations rep just keeps telling me it has already been escalated but there's no evidence that they're actually going to do anything. My car is significantly devalued with a taped-up sunroof... Can't fix, can't sell.
P*ssed off.

Better source a good used part. There shouldn't be any shortages of those.

Have you done any searches on the forum?

We have a good number of threads dealing with parts. The original manufacturer of the Moonroof is not Jaguar. Forum memebers were able to get some parts instead of the big assembly that Jaguar wanted to sell them.

Technically we do not have sunroofs but moonroofs.

To addd to tbird6 - I have found parts for the sunroof assembly - search "Webasto" on the forum - or look in the "how to" section sticky. I even think I added a parts list or a link to the parts list. If your referring to the plastic sight shield - I ordered the Webasto part for $11 (much cheaper than a new moon roof)

Thanks. I'll look at Webasto... The part is a 2cm x 1cm plastic runner guide within the MOONROOF (was never any good at astronomy ) track that just split in two.
