Default Defroster Vent

Where do I find a defroster vent for S-type, 2000, 3.0?

From the dealer. All the used ones are junk at this time. Plastic and sun will do that.

I repaired mine twice and then it finally broke again and I got a new one. They are not cheap either!

I think $200-$300 range. But my car is rattle free and that's how I like it!

It's a crapshoot, but check Craigslist in your area. Many Gen 1 S-Types available for part out, with some under 100K on the odo.

And I wouldn't be surprised if a Lincoln LS from that period was good, too. I think the interiors were the same pre-facelift (and perhaps afterwards, too).

Most of those era LS' that I see, I tend to hear more of. Squeaky brakes and other suspension items. May be a coincidence. Paint jobs not as good as a ST, so I wonder if interior components would hold up. The ST part outs actually look good, other than any accident damage, since many of these have relatively low mileage.

I have a 2003 LS and a 2005 S Type but I am not sure that part interchanges or not?

But wouldn't the '05 S-Type be post face-lift and both '03 LS and S-Types be pre-face-lift?

The interiors of pre and post face-lift cars are completely different.

For the most part yes but the defroster panel looks like it did not change much so I am not sure.
