Default Diagnostic tool

Have heard about reading error codes with the use of an OBD tool could anyone tell me what it is ,where I could buy one ,how much they cost and where does one attach them.Any replies would be much appreciated.

but you can get the ELM327 type cheap as chips on ebay if you just want to do the basics.
I believe your port will be under the dash near your left knee.

OBD tools have been discussed ad nauseum on the Jaguar Forum. Please familiarize yourself with the forum's SEARCH feature. It will be your best friend.

As stated by our esteemed moderator above, ELM327 is a good basic code reader, and is highly recommended by many members of the forum, including me. It will be your best friend when troubleshooting. It's inexpensive, comes in Bluetooth and Wi-Fi versions, and is made by a multitude of manufacturers. You need to research which is best for you and your needs. Read the customer satisfaction comments before buying one online, as some seem to be rated better than others.
