Dimensions of a Stype SE V6 bonnet ?
Does anyone know the dimensions of a bonnet for a V6 SE ? The bonnet flew up and smashed the screen whilst we were driving along I have managed to source one from a breakers but they wont deliver it and I need to get a courier to pick it up but they won't quote me until I have given them dimensions and weight !
Nothing is ever straight forward !
If it were as easy as going outside with a tape measure I wouldn't have posted The car is not here its stuck in London awaiting autoglass to order the screen in which will be ready to fit on friday !
I have called the main agent and fibbed and said my daughter had a homework assignment about dimensions ! He searched through and said there is no where in his files that give the weight and dimensions ...
Any help would stop me pulling my "blonde" hair out!

Be sure and get the hinges with your replacement hood. The kind of damage you have is difficult to repair correctly. The hinges are almost always bent in some way.
Did the roof get much damage?
Can you tell us what happened?
I know on my 2005 STR there is a hood catch for just this purpose. I was doing some trouble shooting and took the car for a quick test drive and neglected to latch the hood fully. Thankfully the catch did its job!!
Pretty strong too as I did a quick run up to 90 mph and that would have been ugly if it had let go!! As it was I nearly lost it when the hood popped up a bit and the was caught by the latch!! A seat clutching experience to say the least!!

Wow
Looks like hubby got off lightly ! ... we have just had autoglass in to repair the screen it had lines of cracks rather than shattered like in the photo... fortunately no damage to the roof or sunroof , only the bonnet.
I have since found a bonnet and the courier only charged me £25 ! to bring it from Preston down South so amazed at how cheap it was .
The autoglass guy was so helpful he explained that I would need struts as well as the ones he showed me are shot to pieces also to check if the hinges come on the bonnet .
He was travelling around 70mph on the A10 when the bonnet literally flipped up on him ... he hadnt opened the bonnet in the previous 2 weeks when he topped up the brake fluid . He was really really lucky by the looks of things.
I just hate seeing my little car sat there looking so broken
I love it I know its only an oldie but it drives so lovely and did look so tidy ... hopefully the new bonnet will be ok to fit they described it as no rust and no damage just a little dink in the middle but I'll soon see how little the "little dink" is when it arrives !
