dodgy horn
evening ppl, 2nd post, i've recently brought a 2004 jaguar s-type 2.7d v6 sport, the horn has never worked in the 2wks ive owned the car, so I changed fuse f16, under bonnet compartment, it was a 15amp (blue tip) I put another 15amp fuse in and the horn worked for all of 3 beeps, then wouldn't work again, so I checked the fuse again, and this fuse had blown, I repeated the process again and had the same out come, blown fuse, has anybody else had this problem? and if so what is the best cause of action to take to resolve this problem, many thanks in advance, oh and thanks for a warm reception

the same was happening when i got my jag a few years ago, it blew 5 or 6 fuses and then it stopped, but shortly after that my horn died and it sounded like a diying seal bought a used horn from ebay, no problem since then ( 1 year).+ it sound sounds great and i use every opurtunity to use it

I have had two horns fail on my 2005 STR. Which is odd because I have never had any horn ever fail! They just stopped making noise and did not blow a fuse.
I would unhook both horns. They are easy to get to and are right in back of the horse collar grill and in front of the radiator. Then replace the fuse and push your horn button several times. Check the fuse. Then hook up one horn and run the test again. If the fuse is still good then hook up the second horn and try again.
My bet is one of the horns has a short and keeps blowing the fuse.

these jags are funny cars, took both terminals off the horns, changed the fuse, hooked up the 1st horn, worked, fuse didn't blow, hooked up the 2nd horn, that also worked, no fuse blown, horn is now working, getting 2 new tyres put on the front tomorrow, £117 each all in, (avon tyres) is that a fair price?
