4. New shocks (all 4).
I'd be especially interested to hear about replacing the shocks. I have to tackle that soon. Perhaps start a new thread on the subject? This might help reduce confusion in this thread if multiple topics get discussed.

EdanKeven,
You could do a write-up on each procedure and link each to the appropriate line-item in your original post.

Here's an example from the X300 forum:
Renew coolant with Zerex G-05 and ensure water valve is working freely: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...winter-102192/
Renew crankshaft damper: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...74/#post802973
Renew Idler pulley: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...87/#post809926
(freshly discovered) Renew crankshaft front seal: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...enewal-101564/
Install Gonzo's Hoodliner my wife got me for Christmas: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...98/#post798739
Renew bonnet struts (complete, but nothing to see here, no pics, no thread)
Renew Headliner
Stop sunroof rattle
Repair sunroof - it reverses when 3/4 closed, unless I stop it, then re-start it to close.
Repair Seat heaters: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...s-help-101802/
Repair Driver's seat leather: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...lstery-101125/
Renew Engine Oil and filter
Renew bootlid struts
Clean and condition leather with Gliptone

I'll update later when I can claim more progress....
I should probably put the hood back on before I go broke!
Renew Upper Radiator Hose: Not much to see, here - straightforward, there's a pic in the Lower Hose Renewal link
Renew Lower Radiator Hose: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...enewal-101914/
Tinker with Heater Valve: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...winter-102192/
Renew Drive Belts: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...e-belt-102387/

Well, that was bust! Here's the original thread...in which the links work fine, but I wasn't smart enough at the time to put it up-top..they are buried pretty deep in the thread below the photos:

Yes had those codes. I got mine from eBay for $150 each, but I'm in California. If your in New York or Cali-First go to website below and enter your cars info. It will give you a list of approved cats for those stated and you just type catalytic converter in the search engine along with the manufacturer part number and it will bring up the cats you want. If you live in any other 48 states just type your car info in Google search or eBay and you will find plenty of compatible cats to choose from that are under $150.
As far as the work goes, there are 2 bolts above the cat towards engine area, and then along the pipe 2 more bolts halfway down muffler. Knock it with something and you can pull the pipe off. Use a reciprocating saw to cut off old cat and either weld new one on or if you have to use some chemical weld or bond and some muffler tape and muffler clamps. I would recommend a weld lol. Does that answer your questions?

OK so I purchased NON-electronic KYB gas-a-just-shocks off ebay, $250 for a set of 4( they feel pretty good). It was fairly easy removing the old, just disconnected the bolts hold it on and had to disconnect top end of tie rod that was in the way of the bolt holding bottom of shock. I rented a spring compressor from auto store and manually compressed spring, inserted new shock and installed. Compressing the spring took forever by hand so hopefully you have an air gun to speed it up. Also if your using non electronic shocks remember to disconnect the module located on passenger side of trunk.

Heh heh Rick...I don't know when/how it switched to all the slashes and internet geek stuff...when first constructed, one of the links, for instance said "Timing Cover Seal Renewal" instead of all the internet gibberish... and others likewise, thread title instead of "PoundSignQuestionMarkStarExclamationPoint!" (PROPS to Kevin Fowler) in this case, I just copied that section of my post and pasted it here, so no real time spent in typing. As I said, they still work in the post, just not when copy|pasted into another post, apparently.

Whoa hoss! That'd be a creative way to shoot a coil across the shop and do some real damage! OK, so no real problem initially, while the shock is still running up through the middle of it...but before removing it, make sure those two compressors are about even and spaced 180 degrees apart - directly across the spring from one another. Otherwise...duck and cover! And if you discover you need to compress it further once the shock is removed, for whatever reason...take it easy..small turns keeping each side even.

Easy-Peasy...just select the address in your browser address bar. Copy. Paste into your thread, and Bob's yer Uncle!
Never tried self-linking to the thread I'm posting in, but here goes https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...7/#post1414688

Default Petrol door closure broken

Hello,

I am probably repeating a known issue, ( sorry!). All I need is the bit that flicks out when you push the petrol cap button. I have no idea what the part number is and not very online techy.

So here I am, online....

It appears that it may be a design flaw on the 2005 S-Type. Does anyone have any updates as to whether it's been addressed? What's my best fix here?

Much Appreciated

Gillian

Hello, I have a 2002 s type 3.0.
The driver side window doesn't work. The heater doesn't work, and seems to be moisture in the glovebox, and the passenger side floor was wet. I would appreciate any DIY knowledge.

Need more info please, does the air conditioning work? It's very common to replace heater control valve. How does the window not operate? Did you check all your fuses?

The air conditioning works fine. Not sure about why the window does not work. Didn't check the fuses, I was just told that it needed new window regulators.

Start a new thread with a title that matches your problem as this one is a mess.
