I'd be especially interested to hear about replacing the shocks. I have to tackle that soon. Perhaps start a new thread on the subject? This might help reduce confusion in this thread if multiple topics get discussed.

EdanKeven,
You could do a write-up on each procedure and link each to the appropriate line-item in your original post.
Here's an example from the X300 forum:

As far as the work goes, there are 2 bolts above the cat towards engine area, and then along the pipe 2 more bolts halfway down muffler. Knock it with something and you can pull the pipe off. Use a reciprocating saw to cut off old cat and either weld new one on or if you have to use some chemical weld or bond and some muffler tape and muffler clamps. I would recommend a weld lol. Does that answer your questions?

OK so I purchased NON-electronic KYB gas-a-just-shocks off ebay, $250 for a set of 4( they feel pretty good). It was fairly easy removing the old, just disconnected the bolts hold it on and had to disconnect top end of tie rod that was in the way of the bolt holding bottom of shock. I rented a spring compressor from auto store and manually compressed spring, inserted new shock and installed. Compressing the spring took forever by hand so hopefully you have an air gun to speed it up. Also if your using non electronic shocks remember to disconnect the module located on passenger side of trunk.

Petrol door closure broken
Hello,
I am probably repeating a known issue, ( sorry!). All I need is the bit that flicks out when you push the petrol cap button. I have no idea what the part number is and not very online techy.
So here I am, online....
It appears that it may be a design flaw on the 2005 S-Type. Does anyone have any updates as to whether it's been addressed? What's my best fix here?
Much Appreciated
Gillian

The driver side window doesn't work. The heater doesn't work, and seems to be moisture in the glovebox, and the passenger side floor was wet. I would appreciate any DIY knowledge.

Need more info please, does the air conditioning work? It's very common to replace heater control valve. How does the window not operate? Did you check all your fuses?
