You may have detrius in a door switch or it's faulty. Maybe something else.

My understanding is, yes after so much time they should automatically shut off so the battery doesn't drain.

Hi,
I'm having a similar problem with interior lights staying on. I believe it's a door switch issue but I could not locate it. Could anybody tell me where it is?

Thanks

Hold up! Before you rush off to the dealership...

Yesterday when my wife and I were programming our Homelink transceiver in our S TypeI reached up and pressed the center dome light button. Later , after I had exited the car, my wife attemped to turn off the lightsby pressing the outermap light buttons. She exited the car andseveral minutes later told me that the interior lights would not turn off.

It took me a minute or so of playing around trying to figure out why the interior lights wouldn't turn off..when here I simply (still) had the center dome light buttom pushed in. I pressed it again and about 20 or seconds later..the lights turned off.

I hope for your sake it's something this simple. Good luck!

The fact that that overhead light panel observes the opposite logic from normal, that is you push the button in to turn it off, and the fact that the light takes a few seconds to turn off, could cause an owner to misunderstand what is happening here.
In such a situation, the Dealership is just salivating to replace the whole overhead panel and the wiring from there to the battery.
And charge you or the manufacturer for it, of course, depending on warranty status...

Default dome lights wont turn off.

I have a 2002 Jaguar stype 3.0. My dome lights wont turn off. Front and back. I thought it was a timer or door switch but can't seem to find the switch. Can anyone help me understand how to fix it. I'm going to pull the bulbs out. But also having a problem getting them out. Please help. Thanks
