I just finished replacing the drivers door check strap. The check strap is installed from inside of the door and requires removal of the door trim panel and the drivers door electronics module. It is then just a matter of removing two 10mm nuts from inside the door shut face recess and the two torx screws in the "A" post. I was pleasantly surprised that the complete assembly only cost $28.00 (Scott with discount). It took about 45 minutes total, most of which was figuring out how to remove the trim panel without damage. JTIS is helpful but just barely.
