Door mirrors.

Door mirrors.
Does anyone know if it's possible to convert the door mirrors on an S-type to the fold-back type? I'm contemplating buying another house, and here in the UK all the garages seem to have narrow 7-foot doors. The last house I looked at I wouldn't be able to drive up the side of the house to the garage for these mirrors sticking out! And I'm not going to buy a Mercedes to get round this...

p.s. They don't have to be electric, just foldable.

I have retro-fitted power fold mirrors on my 1999 model S type.
All the parts were sourced from e-bay and consisted of:
2 x new mirror assemblies, off side and near side (with power fold)
1 x interior power fold switch
In my case all the wiring was in situ behind the driver's door card and it was simply "plug and play".
The hardest part was removing the mirror rear covers (colour coded) from my original mirrors then fitting them to the new mirrors.
Also removing the door cards can be a bit tricky to access the wiring and wiring connectors. (removing the interior door handle bezel can be a pain)
The comlplete installation took less than 2 hrs.

Thanks to all who contributed. I tried moving them manually, and it seemed that they were not moveable. However, perusing another Jaguar website, there was much discussion about converting these door mirrors to power. So almost on a whim, I checked in my owner's manual, and discovered they were moveable "in an impact".
So some more force was used, and eureka, they folded back! It seemed they were stuck due to never being moved from day one.
So now any water has been blasted out with an "Airduster", and some silicon-oil spray applied. (Silicon oil does not attack plastic).
I should have followed the old american adage -- "if all-else fails, read the instructions". Or the not-so-old english one, "all's well that ends well Gromit".

You need to remove the mirror glass---all the wiring connections for the heater are behind the glass. The glass can be removed by hand ,as can the cover--NO screw driver required.Check the JTIS for the exact technique.
If you check the X350 forum you can see the pics I posted of my mirrors--the S-type are identical.
