Dreaded "ABS Fault ....No DSC available" showing
I took my Jag to dealer to read the code...and he came back with replacing passenger rear bearing ( $241) as fix.
The car triggers the ABS shuddering at low speeds and its very unnerving.
Should have consulted you guys first...I jacked up the car to find the front passenger wheel hub assembly damaged at sensor cap so I replaced the hub assembly. ( don't know how the dealer missed that one) ... Still the ABS fault message... Reading some other posts here I cleaned the rear sensors and sensor wheels ...I have also replaced my 9 year old Battery ...but still the ABS fault message .....Maybe the Jag dealer is right..it is the rear bearing ?? I have checked the rear wheel when the car was jacked up ........the bearing felt okay when I tried to move the wheel....no loose movement or rattle.....wheel moved with no sound......Could use some input from the experts ...Thanks.

Bearing/hub/sensor assembly probably should be replaced.
My mechanic determined my front left ABS speed sensor was bad. Replacing the bearing/hub/speed sensor assembly ($196 from NAPA; RockAuto.com sells them for even less) resolved the problem. No more codes & dash lights. Worth the $$.
The bearing/hub/speed sensor is sold as an assembly so if your speed sensor fails the solution is to replace the entire assembly, which your dealer is referring to as the bearing. If you try to replace the sensor alone you will find that they are difficult to procure and actually cost MORE than the full assembly that includes new bearings and hub in addition to the sensor! I'd recommend you have the work done that the dealer suggests if you really want the problem to go away.

If the warning light is on you still have brakes, only the ABS system does not operate properly. If you have the problem I would recommend to check the battery first, then disconect the sensor and clean it. And if these actions do not solve the problem, then replace the sensor. In some cases the sensor is just covered in mud and other substances.
