Default Drivers Window Regulator or something broken??

Hi Guy's
Help needed.

Yesterday my drivers window was frozen with ice, i stupidly pressed the window down button, the window did not move, but i heard what sounded like crunching plastic!!!.
I drove the car today and the window has fallen inside the door!!.
Any ideas as to what i have broken?? and how to fix it?
Very cold driving with the window down!!
Any help much appreciated.
Regards David.

Very common and a basic search would have got your answer.

Yes replace the window regulator. We have dozens of threads with pictures and part numbers.

Take the door card off and have a look. You may find that the glass just needs re-affixing into the frame, if you're lucky.

No problems Rick. As the door card would have to come off anyway, I find it pays to look for the easiest solution first.

Your good self and Tberg may well be correct though.

the window didn't move. I rolled it back up and at the top I hear a cracking noise. I would assume what ever attaches to the window to push and pull it came off but I don't know. Is it possible that all I have to do is reattach it or is the regulator gone?

I'd put money on the regulator, the good news is that you can use the LS regulators which are much cheaper.
