Default RE: DSC Failure??

The YAW rate sensor is under the hoodbut I can not tell you exactly whereI have an X Type.
There is also a steering wheel sensor. The DSC module takes input from the YAW rate sensor and
the steering wheel sensor to figure out which way the car is sliding and what the dirver is doing with
the wheel to correct it, then uses the ABS system to help make corrections. I belive it also cuts engine
speed as needed. Pretty complex system that I have found to work quite well. Takes the fun out of
whipping the rear end around a bit in the snow up here in Maine! (but I shut it off to have a little fun
now and then! ) I can tell you that the YAW rate sensor is about $600 so you may want to make sure
it is in fact bad. Try scanning for fault codes. The DSC failure could be due to an issue in the ABS system
but that should give you and ABS light on the dash too. Can't hurt to give it a scan.
