DSC system fault

rnauthal, moved your question here from the Jag Tech thread. More likely to get help.
You've got to have a stored code for the message to appear, more than likely the OBD code scanner you're using doesn't read that. Alot of scanners only do the basic engine codes...try another one, or take to the dealer and if they're not busy...you may get a freebie read. Definitely ask first if there's a typical 'evaluation fee' to be incurred. Can't help you without some code to narrow it down, unfortunately.

Read previous threads about that fault (DSC is described in your handbook). You could do a load of checks based on JTIS but really you need to hope there are specific codes to help narrow the search.
A generic OBD tool is unlikely to tell you them because DSC is not a generic feature of OBD. Tools like IDS and AutoEnginuity should do it.

If you've the time you might try reading JTIS (a lot!) hunting for which wires go where and might help diagnose all the problems. Or if you're good with cars you might try looking for chafed wires and to re-make all the grounds. You could carefully re-seat all fuses & relays. Otherwise I think your best bet is a shop but it must have and know how to use the jag-specific OBD. An ordinary shop just will not have the equipment (and probably no idea how to use it).
Make sure the shop record all the data and print it out for you - you then have the option of taking that elsewhere, putting it on here and so on. See what they say are the most likely causes for all the problems.
If your battery might be dying, changing it would also be a possibility but sounds a bit unlikely.

i have a similar problem. I disconnected the plug in the console that connects the dsc system to try to clear the flashing traction light on othe dash. I had no messages on the dash at that point. After I plugged it back in, I received dsc failure message and it won't clear. I disconnected the battery, wait about 20 minutes, and reconnected it. However, it did not clear the dsc system failure message. any suggestions?

You need a specific scanner that can read/erase DSC related codes - usually CXXXX codes.
Typical codes (without knowing them) that are related to the DSC system are wheel sensors, the ABS controller or the ABS motor.
Most OBDII readers cannot obtain the "C" codes.
But, once you get the code(s) - post them here.
