DSC Warning light came on
In the midst of trouble shooting one problem, (engine noise from front part of the engine (serpentine belt?) a new one emerged. After cleaning up the engine compartment with degreaser and a low pressure water hose, I started the engine and let it run for a few minutes. A few hours later I returned to take her out but she wouldn't start. Lots of lights and clicking but no starter turning. I immediately checked the battery and it was right at 9 volts. I suspect I ran the battery down a bit while working on it for the past few days. I charged the battery for an hour and rechecked. She started right up but now I have a DSC NOT AVAILABLE WARNING LIGHT. I charged the battery until it was fully charged and the car starts fine but the DSC light won't go out. Any ideas on how to fix this. Also, the switch on the dash doesn't seem to turn the DSC on or off should there be an indication that DSC is activated?

These cars detest low batteries and throw all sorts of spurious codes and messages when their batteries begin to die. Yours is probably beyond repair....
And be careful when washing the engine bay. The throttle body and spark plug wells will bite you given just the slightest bit of moisture residue....

DCS Warning Light Came On....Update
A huge thanks to all that replied to my plight. While waiting for a solution to my problem, I read back through many (8-10) pages of the forum. I saw my warning msg in many of those related to a discharged battery. So, I charged my battery overnight using a commercial grade battery charger and tester. My battery checked out as "OK" so I attributed the discharge to the many hours I had the doors open, running windows up and down, trunk open, listening to the radio while waxing, etc. Of course. washing the motor didn't help. But after disconnecting, cleaning and reconnecting every connector I could find under the hood, as well as cleaning the battery posts, I thought I had done everything I could do. This morning, she started right up...no warnings. After a 45 minute spirited drive down the freeway, everything worked as it should and no messages. Now to get back to the belt change....Thanks again!
P.S. is there a procedure for changing the battery? I plan to pickup a new battery and install myself.

DSC warning light
Hi from Pearland. Have you had any battery issues lately? I had the same code after washing the engine and running the battery down. As stated earlier, these things hate low/weak batteries. Once I replaced the battery with a new one and cleared all codes (I had several including yours), all was well. It's been several weeks now and no returning codes (and no washing the engine). Check your battery and if any doubt, replace. My old battery was less than a year old but purchased at one of the "box" stores (read cheap) and just wasn't up to the task of keeping up with the Jag's electrical demand. Hope this helps.
