i have buddy but cant find anything on any of the jag forums i really dont wana spend best part of 300 on a new part hence why i asked if i could get it blanked out as i got a friend who owns a tuning company hes said if i can get it blanked off he will map it out and give it a stage 1+ remap for me which will take it from 400 to about 470bhp if i want stage 2 il need to change the supercharger pulley to a smaller one and have a full sports exhaust system but i am planning to give it a overhaul anyway.

when you get it off take a good look at the gaskets and pipe. The pipe is known to crack. Yes. Inspect the orifice too. The pipe is brazeable i would think after seeing mine. It is stainless though. You might even have a briken bolt

As JagV8 said there is no ecu tuning for the 02/03/04 .
anymore that is . I’ve tried . Except for one shop in the UK.
no good to me though as they won’t do it without the car on the dyno in their facility. And around 7000 km from me.
I think Avos has also successfully had tunes done in the past in Germany on the old Denso ECU .
very rare to find someone who can now days. I would not let your mate touch it Without extensive knowledge of the early S-type R ecu.
I am not the pioneer of bypassing the EGR on the STR .
Avos wrote up a thread on it years back .
and I did the same as he did .
seven years later and mine still has spotless clean intercoolers.
and that’s what I was aiming for.
And it runs perfectly. but not without two other (negative?)- side-effects.
Eg - Engine light still comes and goes away sometimes .
Only illuminates after a good thrashing.
with heavy high rpm deceleration .
and goes away after a bit of city driving,
& the revs hang just a little after deceleration.
Hardly noticeable really.
this is a side affect of having oxygen run through the EGR ,
instead of inert burned exhaust gas.
you cannot blank or remove the 02/03/04 S-type r EGR .
but you can bypass it - Back to the intake after the MAF .with a restrictor in the pipe .
as the ECM measures the amount of air passing the MAF during the EGR opening and closing .
And it knows if the flow rate doesn’t see the desired flow rate for its repetitive test . .
you may only need to clean out the valve. With a brush and carb cleaner .
It’s worked for me before a couple of times. but if the pipe is cracked you’re up for around NZ$350 for a new pipe.
it’s the same as the 04/05 XJR pipe .
it’s really fun removing the egr pipe. and valve .
it’s a contortion act. beware . If you round the nuts your screwed.
use only eight sided sockets that fit nice and tight..
Those tuning claims seem extremely optimistic.
I think the most I’ve ever seen with all the Bolt ons the pulley and the exhaust is around 40-50 hp..
The roots blower can’t push 470 horse .
In fact a little with heat soak and too smaller pulley (ie3pound) you lose hp.
the best results have been proven to be from the 1.5lb pulley. There is a thread somewhere on here from Cambo’s extensive testing .
cambo can tune your TCM .
but after some issues will no longer attempt to tune the Denso ECM .
