Hi everyone,
I gotta say, this is an amazing website; I am thankful of the info that some of you share with the rest of us. To the problem, I noticed that the engine gauge on my 2000 S type V8 (none type R) was staying warm for much longer than expected.
I'd leave the car off for an hour or so and come back to it and the gauge would instantly jump up to 1/4 and to half way within a few minutes.
So with some quick investigation I could easily see that the engine fan was not working. I've kept a close eye on the gauge and it hasn't gone past half way so it doesnt seem like theres any immediate danger to the engine but I would like this taken care of.
Besides replacing the fan does anyone have any suggestion as to things I could look into (fuses etc.)
Thanks in advance

You can watch the value being reported to the car using this:

and the workshop manual ($8 ebay) gives things like thermostat opening ranges.

Man you guys are a wealth of info, thanks to all. I took it to a local mechanic and he looked it over for free.
As he was explaining it, its normal for the temp to spyke half way pretty quickly and since the engine isnt getting hotter than that it isnt a concern.
We turned the AC on to check the variable speeds of the fan and it started spinning.
Thanks again
