Default Electronic Parking Brake

2007 Jaguar S type 3.0lt V6 Petrol.
Subject will not release
- Battery is in good condition producing 12.6v
- No faults showing on instrument panel.

kindly advise on how best to proceed.

The parking brake will only release when you press the brake pedal.
One known issue that will not show up any faults is if the brake pedal switch is not working.

In addition, check to see if the actuator under the car is working as they can fail.

+1 on that. This is super easy to check. It's the same switch that controls the brake lights. Have a helper cycle the pedal while you watch the brake lights.

If the brake lights work, several fuses are part of the parking brake circuit:

In the rear power distribution box (trunk), check F3, F35, and F52.
In the primary power distribution box (inside the cabin, near right front door hinge area), check F20 and F35.

In the trunk, pay close attention to fuse F35. That's a big 30A fuse. I believe that's the one feeding power to the actuator, and would blow if it jammed. The other fuses are part of the control circuits.
