Electronic Parking brake issue

I recently changed rear pads on my 2005 2.7 SED
The basic procedure was;
1) Disengage EPB by holding down button and turning ign off
2) Disconnect parking brake cables
3) Rewind pistons, Change pads
4) Put back together, dimple in correct place
5) As I loosened the bleed nipples when rewinding calipers system was bled thoroughly.
6) Ign on, calibrated EPB by applying foot brake 5 times and then EPB on.
EPB worked fine approximately 25-30 times after this,but has now failed.
If I disconnect/reconnect battery (Fully charged) and ign on I get the message to apply footbrake then parking brake. Parking brake on = no error. As soon as released error appears.
I have narrowed it down to Error code C1803
I suspect the EPB motor may have gone, maybe changing the pads and recalibration was enough to kill it.
It could also (very likely!) be something I have done wrong.
Is there any sensible way to test the EPB motor in situ? As I understand it is a real pain to remove.
Any suggestions would be welcome as I really don't like having the EPB cables and module disconnected so I can drive it!
Thanks

EPB motor/actuator failure is most common (says two North Carolina Jaguar dealerships), but EPB module failure comes in second. My 2005 S-Type's EPB system failed in late April and we just got it resolved last week. We had to replace the factory EPB module with a brand-new one (we tried an appropriate used EPB module but it did not function properly), and then the EPB system had to be programmed with my indie shop's AutoLogic system....
You may have multiple fault codes so be sure to get a valid reading on all of them and go from there. You could have a combination of B (Body), C (Chassis), and U (Undefined) codes (my car did). As you may already know, a generic OBDII code reader cannot see them....
