It would help to know what model of car we’re talking about .
but regardless I’m sure the engine codes will have a clue .
you should get them read ,
or you could buy a cheep code reader and read them your self .
an ELM327 dongle is known to work well for the S type in general for very cheep .
you pair it with an Appropriate app on your smart phone .

There are many DTC's (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) that trigger the MIL (Malfunction Indicator Lamp) a.k.a CEL (Check Engine Light). The warning tells you nothing more than one or more of these is either stored or pending. You will need a code reader to find out the the code(s). Once you know them, post back here for a decode of the meaning and possible causes.

Many auto part stores (AutoZone, for example) will read the codes for free. Make sure you get the 5 digit code, such as P0388, and not just the generic description.

As well as not giving vehicle details, the OP failed to indicate a Location but IP Address shows me it's UK.

i would suspect your lean code is the culprit then .
if i were you i would not wait for it to melt your expensive catalytic converters .and o2-sensors .
with the same in-expensive code reader i mentioned earlier . you need to check the fuel trims .
and fuel pressure . and maybe change your fuel filter , to see if that helps .
there are plenty of video's on youtube on how run this test and to decipher what you see .
don't sit back and wait for damaged components to trigger the MIL.
when you can be pro active with preventative maintenance .
that light is trying to tell you something .
as for the ABS sensor you can buy them at all jaguar parts suppliers including this forum sponsor. and ebay.
it would be worth checking the plug and wires before purchasing a sensor incase its a wiring/plug fault .
and check the reluctor ring for dirt or damage also.
there is just one 10mm bolt holding the sensor in . so self explanatory really .

The AA and other breakdown/recovery services love to delete codes as a quick roadside fix. However, unless the cause of MIL warning is resolved, it is likely to come back on after a number of "drive cycles". Follow the advice to get an inexpensive code reader to be prepared for any repetition.
When posting about codes, always post the actual code(s) rather than any description you may be given. Generic code lookups are notoriously misleading with Jaguars.
