Default Engine cover

Hey all quick bit of help please. My s type v8 was missing its plastic engine cover when I brought it.

I got one today from eBay but it's missing two from fixings. I don't know how to fix these down having never removed one.

The back has two rubber grips or something. Which I find strange because I thought the would be threaded?
Can someone tell me how these fix on and and a possible soulution for front fixings?

Many thabks

OK, so your talking about the rubber grommets (4 total - 1 in each corner) that slip into the engine cover and inatall on the 4 threadded rod brackets on the engine then... I do not believe those are sold seperately - they should have been on the cover.

Those rubber grommets are known to split when they are not properly alligned with the threadded rod brackets. They also snap off from the top - the ones you have in the back should look identical up in the front.

Without those grommets fully intact there is no way to properly secure the engine cover.

You can inquire with the "request form" on www.jagbits.com and maybe you'll get lucky...

Quick update and question.

Question do these engine covers just push on and pull off?

Update. You can buy the rubber grommet/ fixings for the covers from a main dealer. £10 for all 4. Mine are on order.

Good deal on those grommets - can you by chance list the part number - I have a spare cover I would like to sell (and get some spares for myself) thanks.

Yes, the cover slips on and off - What I usually do (to avoid having those grommets break) is place the rear portion of the cover on first and then allign the front grommets onto the threadded rods by feel.
