engine fail safe mode
Hello all, theres probaly loads of treads mentioning this type of problem but you might have guessed im new on here lol. anyway my problem started about 3-4 month ago when i was on the motorway the display came up with the engine fail safe mode, i stopped switched off and started again and it seemed fine for about 80 miles then happened again, so restarted, everything seemed to be ok and didnt do it again untill yesturday just driving in town when it happened again but this time it wont drive no more than a few feet without going into the safe mode. im abit unsure as i thort safe mode would still drive but just slowly, but on mine there is no throttle at all.
if anyone has any ideas at all it would be great.
the jag is a 1999 3.0 v6 manual

Please post up the codes you are getting. It could be anything at this point. A great many things can trigger "limp" mode.
Throttle body issues
Bad gas pedal / throttle position sensor
Air leak
Electrical fault..
And the list goes on..
Without codes or more to go on, any of the experienced ones on here are just going to be guessing..
