Sorry if this is a stupid question (considering knowledge I have):

Does P1467 have to do anything with what I mentioned before?

"Car has very little (Some time Hard to Feel) vibrations."

Thanks,
Rizwan

Without an OBD tool you are very short of data. With one that can read live data you can look at whether the PCM is using the O2 sensors at all (yes! it may not do and won't throw codes!!), fuel trims, O2 sensors and so on. Some won't do live data either at all or in any usable manner. The elm327 will.

They're $15-25 on ebay.

Going to Buy it to make my life easy in future .

About "ELM327"

Is it better than other handheld scanner (available on Amazon) which don't require PC connection.

"Some won't do live data either at all or in any usable manner."

Thanks a lot for all the help.

Found here:

Where can I learn how to do good readings? understanding those heath, %ages etc?

Some online resource to study that thing or User Manual for ELM327 tells all that?

Can anybody share any good resources about that?

Thanks,

Live data means reading it moment by moment (and recording it or displaying it or whatever). So you can watch sensors as the car idles, as you rev, as you drive, etc.

The cheap handheld have tiny screens and are frankly useless for live data. You can struggle (peer at little screen with hardly any resolution) if you're desperate and if it even does live data (only some do).

The elm327 usually comes with free software (or you can download) which does "enough" live data. But probably won't record/playback or draw pretty graphs etc. It's up to you what your budget is and whether you wish to have those features. (You can buy the software later.)

With live data you treat the engine like an engine not just a dead lump.

However.... if you want detailed jag supprt you need a fairly expensive tool (AutoEnginuity, about $450). It is FAR better but then it costs more

Learning OBD is something probably to do a bit at a time but also most people like to do that "hands on", for which you'd need the device. There are vast numbers of sites about OBD (it's 25+ years old so that's hardly surprising). Just search and read

I've posted some details before. If you want to hunt up my old posts, Search will do it.

Can we use only it's software with ELM327 or it is coupled product having Software + Hardware. Don't wanna work with any other Hardware?

Thanks.

They have their own hardware. I think it may be to protect their software from theft, but I'm guessing.

If you read about it on their site you'll see the huge number of sensors it supports. It's why I bought it. (I have an elm327 as well.)

I didn't answer this when you posted it because first I hoped to convince you that it would be worthwhile to get an OBD tool.

Suppose an O2 sensor is not fully dead but isn't perfect. What can happen is that the PCM is doing its best to control fuelling but in fact it is somewhat wrong due to the bad sensor. There is a 2nd sensor (in the same bank) which is reporting, but it is further down the exhaust so there is a time lag. The PCM will try to adjust the fuelling but the time lag makes it a less successful process and it will typically "hunt". That's a control system word meaning instead of getting the right setting at any given time the controller is continually overshooting or undershooting and then correcting but again missing the value. On an engine that's a bit like revving one bank up and down just a little and vibration would be expected.

Of course you can get engine vibrations for many reasons so this may not be it in your case. But it's possible.

Now..... if it IS the O2 sensor, it COULD be its wiring or a connector BUT generally it's the sensor. It's a HORRID place they sit, suffering the hot exhaust gas mixture.

Thanks Again JagV8, What should I expect to pay to a decent workshop mechanic to replace O2 Sensor (if its bad)?

I checked online OES Sensor costs around $100-110. Normally would this be covered under extended warranty?

Thanks for your help.

its not a hard job, worst case scenario $85-100 in labor plus the cost of the sensor.
Your in SA Im certain you can find a Jose's muffler shop that can save you some cash if you bring the o2 sensor with you.
