Hi,my name is drew and i have a few questions. Idid some searching, and researching throughout the threads and google; i was unable to find the answer i was looking for. My question is, who makes the engine for the 2000 Jaguar S-type for Northern America?
I was assumingthe enginewas made in germany, the partnership between land rover and jaguar caused me to beleive this, but i want to be sure before i start looking through the dealership's for the price i want.
Thank you guys and gals for reading, it's greatly appreciated.

The 3.0 or the 4.0! Jaguar and Land Rover do not have a Partnership with each other. Both companies are subdivisions of Ford Motor Co. The 3.0 is made by Ford and it is a variation of the Duratec engine used in the Taurus, but much more reliable and upgraded! The 4.0 is made by Jaguar for Jaguar!

The 4.0 is not German, it is British! I would obviously prefer the 4.0, as it is stronger, but the older ones have a problem with Nikasil that I would look up and do research on before I would get that engine. I have the 3.0 and it has 97K miles on it and it runs hard and gets me about 25 MPG!
