Default Euro Tek Designs

On Monday I'm meeting with Euro Tek owner Phil for a test drive of my 03 STR. After test drive he will hook up to the ECU and draw out stored data then advize.
If I choose...for $1200 I will recieve an ECU tune, a pulley, and K&N filter (Stage 1). Install of the pulley could run $300. He claims 435 hp @ 5900 rpm and 488 lb/ft trq @3300 rpm.
Phil also said he's owned STR's and tuned several of them. He also claims EuroToys sends him ECU's to tune.
Any questions? Or info. I should know?

Do a dyno before and after the tune.....Is it a dyno tune or a reflash? Will this fix the rev issue at WOT? What about a tune for a ported/polish blower, and exhaust? Is a lower t stat worth it or keep it stock. What plugs does he recommend with the tune.....ask about meth injection as well....will the meth mess up the tune?

How bout that for a good conversation starters haha

Riski! LOL! I friggin laughed (after reading your questions). I'll ask him about all you asked cause they're very good questions. When I get there I want to see dyno sheets and testimonials whom I will call for verification.

I'm not in a position to begin at once (approx. a month or two). I'll propose a group discount. STR owners, On monday I'm meeting with the owner of Euro Tek designs. Please let me know if you're interested in Euro Tek's stage 1 kit. If there are enough interested perhaps Euro Tek will budge a few hundred for a group? They charge $1200 for upper pulley, K&N filter, and ECU tune (not sure if low temp. thermostat is included). It costs approx. $200 (approx. 3 hours) for installation by a mechanic with instructions and the pulley puller/installer.

Default 1st to 2nd short shift at WOT

Riski, I spoke to Phil of Euro Tek about the 1st to 2nd short shifting issue. I told him Jaguar is to reflash my TCM and ECU on Tues. to extract learned habits and reset system. I'll learn more from Phil on Monday on this issue. He wants to check car out. He assured me the STR will be an animal after a Stage 1 kit install. I'll keep you posted.

Ask him about a tune, as far as per mods, as I have a 3# pulley, soon to be ported/polished blower, cat back exhaust....etc.....Do they have tunes for each or is it a off the shelf tune that everyone gets.....

Also about meth, and a small 75 shot of nitrous

I think the gains menitoned are realistic by Eurotek (price also seems ok imho), about 30 rwhp could indeed be possible with this combo. Most will probably come from the tune alone. Would be great if you could do a before and after dyno.

Default Euro Tek

Avos and Riski, I wish I could do a before and aft dyno on the Euro Tek Stage 1. Doesn't appear possible now. Part of me wants just an ECU tune but I understand they don't do ala cart. I'll feel this company out Monday. The STR comes from the factory with 13 lbs boost. This is a respectable number considering the 03 Mustang Cobra came with 8 lbs. boost and made 390 hp. According to reputable sources the STR's 112 Eaton is maxed out in stock trim. A port is the only viable way to make further gains (?). A lower temp thermostat along with cooler s/c temps will cause the ECU to deliver a richer mix as a means to cover up lean conditions and compliment ECU tuned parameters. Will mpg suffer? With this car who cares, LOL!
It's the ECU tune that will yield most of the hp and trq. Exhaust will compliment this. Phil (Euro Tek) said Jaguar purposely builds in a detune to the STR's as a means to assure emissions, driveability, and reliability.
I'll let yas know.

Keep us posted.....You can go to a mustang/camaro performance shop and get a dyno pull on small money like 50-80 bucks for a few pulls....well worth it to see the stock trim and gains afterwards......

I dyno'ed my lil kitty stock, and gonna get it dynoed w/ the pulley, K&N filter, and exhaust....

Then gonna try the 75 shot

Default Before & Aft Dyno

I'm taking your advice and will dyno before and after Euro Tek's Stage 1 kit.
Obviously lowering springs lowered your STR, but did they make the ride too harsh? I'm considering lowering springs after engine mods.

Default springs

Nice ride...Definitely looks logical to use the springs when compared to stock height. Is ride harsh?

Will do springs after Euro Tek Stage 1. I'll find out if they'll do a tune on your ECU to compliment your mods.
