Default Exhaust idea READ!!

Ok just ordered my 2.25" tru x center magnaflow universal pipe of ebay new for 90$, summitracing. So resonator is going to go. Now I had an idea instead of getting a pair of mufflers, I just want to take the old ones out and have the muffler shop extend the 2.25" pipe almost to the end and put 3.5" tips on them. So essentially add x pipe with mufflers deleted. Now I know you will say about drone, I know it will be very loud and annoying to some but that's what I want. The question here is , is that applicable mecanically, like it won't throw codes or anything like that will it? Will it work? THANKS

So you want to essentially straight-pipe it from the x-pipe with no resonators or mufflers? If so, DO NOT DO THIS. I had mine set up like that for about a week and drove the car once it was so intolerably loud (and I love me a loud exhaust). You can't hear the radio, the engine, any other vehicles around you, nothing but your exhaust. I added a couple mufflers right behind the x-pipe to act as resonators, and its still loud when I get on it but also tolerable to drive and I can hear my radio and sometimes even my supercharger.

Here's a few sample videos of how it sounds right now:

Those are some sick videos, very nice especially the one where you roasted the camaro, didn't even look like he was racing lol. Well, I figure if they cut just behind the boxes and add 8" off pipe it will be quite simple to put them back on. If I drove the car more than 4 miles a week I would be concerned about being too loud. I'm going to try it I think and, you will probably get to say "I told you so" but I have always wanted an obnoxiously loud V8. But Im sure Ill get sick of it eventually but it's a piece of cake to throw the boxes back on.

I need to get a video of my current set up. Test pipes to the stock resonator then straight out the tail pipes...

The rear mufflers are bolted to the exhaust with a clamp near the rear axle. It takes about 20 minutes to remove them, and if you don't like it you can just bolt them back on.
