I would like some opinions about exhaust mods to keep the jaguar growl, while simply making it more aggressive
I'm thinking of high flow cats with muffler delete and new tips (since mine is a v6 I dont want to go bigger than 3") but I'd like some advice so it doesnt sound like a tuner
please and thanks in advance

It's just a piece of pipe. There is no "STR" exhaust tip. You need the inlet size of your current exhaust and then the tip outlet size you'd like. 4" fills the opening perfectly and I'd recommend a slight angle cut so you can tuck it deep into the bumper without melting it.

Well! Thank you for all your patience while I worked out and implemented my vision for the exhaust tips on my S-Type R!
(and to rasputin for his knowledge and patience )
After having to look at those anemic factory tips for a few years now and hawking blogs and forums on available exhaust tips and muffler options of different “dual can“ shapes and widths and finishes and cuts and angles and edges...
I decided to put my vision in motion and do what in my heart I knew this “R” model was asking for…
Quad Exhaust Tips!!
I mean, pretty much every brands performance division has quad tips, even other similar year Jaguar R models! (looking at you XK guys lol) so why was the S-Type left out? Space? An unimaginative designers rear valence/"diffuser" ports? lol
Well no more! After measuring and eyeballing and searching…and measuring for the perfect fit and look, I decided on straight, round, rolled edge tips to keep with a basic classic look and to match the other design circles on the car. After having those stock tips chiseled off, I was met with a 2.5 inch muffler exhaust port that expanded. A little cutting away of an inch here and inch there and finished with a nice permanent weld has I feel given my S-Type “R” a more complete and aggressive look.
P.S. No horsepower was gained at the end result of this process lol
But wait! Maybe there was??? :O
Another thing I was not very right was the cars start up, idle and acceleration sound coming out of the exhaust.Yeah… there’s pretty much none.
Now I didn't want something as loud and awesome as the new F-Type R lol or something that would be intrusive and dronnnne into the cabin of my daily driver, just something that gave the car a little more… presence.
So I installed a Magnaflow Mid-Muffler to the mix!
The car now has a nice/slight little burble! J Windows closed I hear nothing toooo different than stock, but accelerating with the windows and sunroof open enjoying this 77degree weather in July in New York lol I hear a slight more note which is perfect for me. Not at all louder than the Supercharger whine, or deep as an ideling E55 AMG but there is some sound going on over the stock mid-muffler.
So now my car looks cooler AND has some presence! Just like I wanted.
Feel free to ask questions and enjoy the pics!
