Farewell to My 2005 S-Type....
After 9.5 years of ownership, the absolute right buyer for my beloved 2005 S-Type 3.0 came along and I reluctantly agreed to sell my car to him. He is a good friend of Rick's (joycesjag), knows his way around DIY maintenance and repairs for cars and boats, and Rick will be supporting him as well. I have encouraged him to join this forum and I believe he will indeed do so. Look for him to come aboard and introduce himself soon....
I want to extend my true gratitude to everyone here in the S-Type section. Some of us long-timers are still around and kicking, and many of you from all over the planet have made my S-Type ownership a very enjoyable experience. As I always say, this forum is by far the most valuable tool in my toolbox....
I will now be found mostly in the XK8/XKR section because my wife has no intention of selling her 2006 XK8 anytime soon. But I will try to drop in here on the S-Type section from time to time just to keep up with what is going on....
So farewell to my trusty 2005 S-Type. I will indeed miss it for the fantastic highway cruiser that it still is, but I feel good about knowing that it will stay in our extended jaguarforums.com family for a long time to come....

Jon you've struggled at times as have I, including today!
Best of luck to you.

I had the pleasure of driving Jon's S Type a couple hundred miles home yesterday for my buddy Todd. The vehicle handled and drove just as new. One would never guess maintenance or appearance that there is 106 plus on the clock.
Todd will be joining us here as my long time buddies are moving on one by one. There is still you Bob, Norri, Aholbro, JagV8 last of the Mohicans!

you've been threatening this for a while . with a side note of unwillingness to sell .
unless the right buyer came along .
true Shame to have ended a long lasting automotive relationship , but if this was the dream buyer for such a looked after car . then all the better . some of your tutorials have led me down the right path , and generally with easy link part no#s attached .
so thanks for that !
is an under statement !
could not agree more .
i think without these forums many cars will have died well before there time .
maybe especially the s types .
thanks for your input . best of luck with the XK8 and what ever replaces the S type .
9.5 years of ownership is a good effort .
i still have my first ever car i owned after 28 years ,a 42 year old P610 . and like your S type it stays as good as i can possibly keep it . i could not dream of selling it .
so i hope Todd realises what you have been through to keep it this way, and respects it.
i'm sure Todd and joycesjag will keep on top of it .
Cheers

Andy,
For now, I do not plan to replace my S-Type. Between my trusty 1999 Dodge Ram pickup (owned since December 2000) and our go-anywhere / do-anything 2013 Subaru Outback 3.6R SUV (owned since November 2015), those two vehicles should get me anywhere I need to go for the next few years. And at 6-foot-7, I have far more headroom and legroom in both of those vehicles than I did in my S-Type....
