Default A few questions about my new Jag

Hey guys I purchased my car about a month back with what appeared to be engine problems. I took it to a few mechanics to see if the problem can be repaired, three different mechanics from different shops told me I needed to purchase a new engine. I searched on here and I found a guy by the name of Mario located in Hawthorne, NJ. I took the car to him and within a week he had fully repaired my vehicle saving me possibly thousands on a new engine and labor. Now my Jag runs as new!

Anyways... My first question is, what size tires should I put on the vehicle? I want the ride to be as smooth as possible and enough tire so that the rims dont bend or crack if I were to hit a decent pot hole.

Secondly, the panel behind the driver side seat does not clip with the oem clips... is there a fix to this or better clips that would actually stay on?

These are the only questions that pop into mind right now, but I know I have a few which I can't think of as of now. Heres a picture of the Jag right after a carwash

Welcome. Happy to hear you found a mechanic who isn't a rip off artist and she's now purring. Can the OEM clips be bent to latch th panel. Nalley Jaguar (Atlanta, GA.) can get you the clips. Are the retainer or hole in the panel that the clips reside ripped o widened too much?

Welcome, nice looking car!

I'd stick with the stock tire size. Montreal has some of the worst potholes on the continent and I've had no problems with rims (touch wood).

Hi, great news on your Jag - what did Mario do to get you up and running? Just curious. I have a 2000 S Type 4.0 Sport - I use Kumho Ecsta ASX tires - what a difference.

I have 225/50 R17 tires in front and 235/50 R17 in the rear.

The Jag responds and drives real well with these tires.

Hope this info helps.

The hole where the clips go have been widened, so when I push the clips in they just pop right back out. I dont know if wider clips will do the job but the panel is really annoying to annoying who sits in the back.

Well according to Mario my problem was pretty much all electrical. There was no electricity going to the spark plugs so when I tried to turn it on, nothing would happen. He actually took the time to find and replace all the bad harnesses instead of just trying to drain me for my money. He specializes in Jaguars and had about 6 Jags on the lot, hands down the best guy around.
