Default Finally all back together....but

Well after 5-6 days its all back together..replaced both knock sensors, did all new gaskets everywhere, cleaned out supercharger and did new SC oil,did both belts, new VC cover gaskets and plug hole gaskets, new plugs, redit the intake hoses with new couplings as suggested, new oil, new coolent.. what a crazy task.

but....im getting misfire p0303. so i swapped coils around and even plugs, cleared it all...ive done this 3 times, same result
p0303...so its not the coil obviously....i think im stumped

It's still likely a coil issue. The cam cover/plug well gasket swap may have went south. Check the plug wells for oil as well as check that the coil wire boots aren't frayed (leak spark).

Wiring/connector, maybe?

What do the fuel trims look like?

what do you mean about the gasket swap gong south ?

i put 3 different coils in that cylinder.. 2 of which are brand new..still shows misfire on 3

You're working with one hand tied behind your back.

elm327 is like $10-15

i have an acutron 9550..maybe it does.

Any way,

decided to do the good old fashion spark test... pulled the fuel pum fuse and cranked it whilst looking for spark..... the coil on # 3 was not giving a spark to the plug..
I put a different coil and got a spark. I took the the coil from #3 and plugged to another spot and did not get spark.. So it would all seem to point to a bad coil. SO ill get a new coil tomorrow.
But im not convinced putting a new coil in wil solve the issue due to the fact that I had previously swapped coils around and the codes still showed misfire on 3 so thats why this has been so confusing.

Lol, meaning oil may be leaking into plug well fouling coil. And/or coil's plug wire may be chafed, leaking spark.

all solved it WAS actually a bad coil.. I found that autozone and advance carry the coils in rare locations... one was a 2 hr round trip away but I went and got it...50 bucks.. threw it on and she runs like a dream...with all the stuff i did....it has power like ive never experienced and it jumps off the line with awesome power

cant wait for a nice road trip !!

Possibly fouled the plug by then keeping it at a miss fire, then a 2 hr break would have given it time to clear away? Just thinking out aloud

Interesting idea! I shall try to remember it and try WOT cranking in a case with a swapped coil.

I understand the PCM shuts down a misfiring cylinder's injector but clearly it can't do that instantly so there could well be fuel in there at least for a while.

i surmise because I did not clear the original codes prior to doing a rerun...only possible explanation.. as a side point.. today i was getting a lean fuel mix code.. but then i remembered that the ecu stores the gas trim...so even though the coil was now fine, it was still dumping the fuel/air mix as if the coil was bad.
to clear that you have to disconnect negative battery for 10 min to clear the fuel codes.

i did that.. and NOW all if awesome.

so for future reference to all.. clear all OBD codes AND all fuel codes in between every reading
