Default Finally, decent lug nuts....

I suspect this info is good for the majority of the Jaguar line, or, at least
those of you with the damnable original lug nuts. You know the kind; the
formed cover over the actual nut that eventually gets rounded off, and,
when the covers come loose, make a clicking noise when you're driving.

Full disclosure: I know no one at this firm, not related to anybody, etc.
For approx. $108, you can purchase chrome plated lug nuts without covers, that include the integral washer, etc. They look good, and fit
perfectly. You can see your reflection in the chrome!

Anyway, the place is in California; Golden State Wheels, 818-921-7663.
Order 20 LNJAG12 Lug Nuts. That price includes priority shipping.

I took some photos of them off and on the car. Just can't figure
how to get them attached to this thread.

Excellent! Thanks for the info on the lug nuts. I've read on the forums that they can be a real pain so I think I'll order a set before I pull my hair out when one of them rounds off.

These are almost double the price of the DORMAN Part # 611117 which are $60. per set including shipping. What's the advantage?

Default don't really know

Don't know Mikey. I didn't know the Dormans existed when
I purchased these. If your happy with the quality and appearance
of the Dormans, than there is no advantage and forum members
should probably go with those.

Yes there are several options. Remember the Chrysler option too!!

I started a very large thread about this because the Lincoln LS suffers from the same thing. I have a 2003 Lincoln LS which got me interested in the S Type. I later got a 2005 STR. Do a search to see the thread.

So this is what the lug nuts from Dorman look like.

Are there any out there in stainless steel. The ones from Gorilla are the wrong configuration.

I also saw the Toyota style lugnuts.

Are all of these closed on the end or are any open?

Thanks.

Default Gorilla Nuts on a Jaguar!

Well I'm going to use the Gorilla nuts from the Lexus. They're $52 on Ebay.

Something odd about gorilla nuts on a jaguar though ...

I just purchased 40 of the Dorman lug nuts from Rockauto for $104 including shipping. Remember Rockauto ALWAYS has a 5% discount so search the web for the current code. It saves almost all the shipping charges.

Gosh how much was the shipping? They quoted me arounf $52-54 for those nuts today. There is a bulk price they offer. I had some pads comming in from them and wanted to add them to the order but they couldn't so I got the "Gorilla" nuts off on Ebay.

Default My new nuts have arrived!

So I've received the Gorilla nuts for the Jag and they look fine but they're not high end items. I would have prefered stainless.

So with those, the new brake pads and the wheel re-painting kit I should be able to replace the pads, fix the curb rash and ditch the old nuts one wheel at a time.

I may take a few pictures on the curb rash thing. If it works great. Otherwise, I got a quote of $645 to remove the wheels, dismount the tires, repair & powdercoat, remount the tires, balance and all ready to go.

That's not bad but if a $45 kit and a bit of labor on my part can do the job I think it makes sense.

Stainless lugs are PRICEY, we just priced a full set for the XK8/Rs, manufactured by a member of the forums, and it will cost around $240 a set ($12 per lug). The price of the material alone is $8 each. But if you want a set, let me know.
