Finally Found a 2008 STR!!
I did know that the STR was last produced in 2008 but had never actually seen one. There is now a 2008 STR on EBay. Interesting differences. Wood steering wheel and shift knob. Also different wood pattern. Not as dark as the earlier models. Even has wood around the cup holder!! Maybe this is aftermarket but the wood kits I have seen don't include this part. Maybe it is stock because of the extra wood around the Navigation/Climate control stack??
Note the different seat upholstery pattern without the subtle "R" embossed in the leather. And all that crappy fake chrome stuff!! All around the tail lights and headlight, around the grille and the bumper spears and all the windows as well as the center door pillars. Even the mirrors are chromed. I would much rather have the proper Brembo brakes back instead of a bunch of ginger bread junk!!

I hope all that stick-on chrome stuff was from an enthusiastic, albeit misguided, former owner and not the dealer. They even added molding on the doors. Even Jaguar themselves took that stuff off in the first refresh in '03. The interior has one of the best dealer installed factory-match kits I've seen in a while, though. Looks like a B&I or Automax molded kit. And I agree totally about the Brembos.

It is a premium/luxury package car. Buuuut it also has a ton of tacky add on crap... The premium package car added chrome mirror caps and chrome bumper trim on the exterior and burl walnut trim on the interior, including the overhead console. The add on crap is the rest of the chrome trim, the body side moldings, and the center stack and other wood trim. While I kind of like the premium pkg cars from the angle that you could pull the R badges off and really freak people out with what they thought was a base car, I really can't stand the level of add on crap this very rare car has on it.
