First Car Show

The local fire dept had their annual fall fest & car show Saturday & I thought what the hell I enter the Jag. This wasn't a competition just a display of cars from hot rods to Model T.
To say the Jag stood out is an understatement! Totally different than any other car. Got lots of comments. People would walk by, stop & take a closer look than exclaim "Wow it's a Jag."

>Jags fit in anywhere, then they just "stand out".
When a Jaguar arrives, everyone notices.

Thanks, I didn't know how well the Jag would be received. This is farm country & pickup trucks & muscle cars rule. There was even a section for tractors most of which were driven into town from surrounding towns.
But everyone was great. It was enlightening to talk to car nuts about detailing and keeping a car looking sharp.

Hey Pete, here's an oddball idea.
Why not get in touch with your JaguarForums Regional Co-ordinator and help host a friendly meet with other Jag owners around your patch? It could be a stand alone Jaguar thing, organized via JF . . . or, in conjunction with other car clubs . . . or simply a well organized Jaguar invasion at next year's Fire Dept hosted event.
Sorta thing we do here in Oz on informal but semi-regular basis, especially during warmer months. I bet that, with a dozen or so gleaming Jaguars of various sports and sedans across the marque, there will be plenty of locals agog with the sight. In a smallish country town, that enthusiasm is contagious. Who knows . . . in the process, you may even unearth some nearby Jaguar owners who also share the passion?
Best advantage you have is your enthusiasm . . . and that shines throughout your posts. Well done, that man!
Cheers,

Careful Pete . . . the last time the Brits tried that, someone spilt the tea and there were bloody noses everywhere!
Suggest you gather dates, details of next June's event . . . then stir the pot by posting a new thread (suitably titled) in your Regional Section. I suspect your RC will be delighted to help, but NOTHING beats a few enthusiastic locals to get it up, and . . . you guessed it . . . that list of locals starts with ONE! Westminster eh? The name has a certain ring to it. Perhaps HM the Queen would grace your gig?
Best wishes
