Pretty good with 15 mph pushing in the opposite direction. Did ya have a fresh fuel and air filter?

that sounds pretty close to my guesstimate of 145. Of course the wind slowed you down a bit though.

It is a great event and I can't tell you how many people came and talked to me about the car. By the end of today I was know as the jag guy. I plan on doing a write up about it once I get home as I left my laptop home and typing on a blackberry sucks.

I did 5 runs yesterday. I could have done a lot more but I try to let the car cool off as much as possible between runs. I'm about to go out again so I can get some more in when it is cool.

Man! This sounds so cool. I gotta do it. Mike, did you do an exhaust mod and Mafioso intake elbow yet? If not, these will really let her stretch out.

Had exhaust intake tube and k&n filter. Did one more run this morning and did 144.1 mph. There is still a killer headwind. Oh and the cooler morning here is 83 degrees at 8am.

"Exhaust intake tube"? or Mafioso air intake tube? I bet you'll see nearly 160 mph against the headwind with a full exhaust mod and 1.5 pulley...170 mph with no headwind.

Sorry meant exhaust and mafiaoso intake tube. The only thing I like about my blackberry is that I don't pay the bill. Surfing the forums gives me something to do when Jo drives.

Also zo6 vettes were only about 20 mph faster. Regular vettes were not even 10 mph faster.

I'm a little on the conservative side but I think that 160 in the jag is pretty optomistic and 170 isn't going to happen. It takes so much more power to increase your trap speed once you get over 150-160. I bet the car would do low 150's with no headwind, but then again, my experience is just from what my buddies have done at the mojave mile.

I agree, after seeing what a lot of the other cars did. ZR1s were in the low 170s and they have both weight and hp advantage.

Ya can tell it was windy from the sound distorting from the microphone on the recording device. An totally stock STR has been clocked at 161 mph on a flat with no wind. Mike, I believe you run a K&N drop in a/f and a Mafioso air intake elbow? Do the run again with a low temp thermo, pulley, and a full exhaust mod. My STR gets from 75 mph to 120 mph in a very short time with plenty of pedal left over.

Nice! I bet that is some serious fun. Too bad about the wind and the heat. Did you do anything to cut down on the weight of the car just for these runs - spare tire and the like?

Sidebar: the ultra-white wheels are starting to grow on me.
