Default First Time Entering S-Type in Car Show

Looking forward to showing my 05 Special Edition 4.2 with Sport Pkg. & XK8 Interior. Very rare car Black with 2-tone Gray vented seats, burnt metal dash &trim inside. Even with 82,000 miles it looks like a new car. Will take pics and post them. At 40K a new tranny& radiator were put in, at 65K all new lights in front, and at 75K new injectors, all under CPO thank goodness. Car handles excellent with the 18" Toyo 50K tires. Still love it!

Why was a new ZF transmission needed at 40,000 miles?

Funny story, those are just vinyl covers that I had on my Hella 500 driving lights on my truck. I sold the lights but kept the covers. They don't fit exactly as the Hellas were flat, whereas the highbeams have a curve in them. I used a heat gun to try to get it as close as possible. They cost about $20 on amazon

You can get yellow film from lamin-x.

I did the fogs on my Volvo yellow with the film and they turned out great. We live out in the country and the main road follows the river so a lot of times we get fog when no one else has it. It's also thick enough to give the fogs protection.

Good luck on your first show JJ! I hope the weather cooperates. Suggest ya take a pack of microfiber towels and Lucas Slickmist or similar spray wax for those little touchups once you get there. The Slickmist is nice - goes on in the sun without streaking. California Car Dusters are handy as well if you don't already take one, may wish to consider.

Pics would be awesome, looking forward to seeing them.

There is a show here this weekend in Pittsburgh and I'm watching the forecast before I spend half a day detailing every nook and cranny and entering the STR. She's pretty clean but not show-clean right at the moment.

Bummer you didn't make the Linden Hall trip in 2011 Michael - you would have had lots of STR/S-Type company!

You still rocking those white wheels btw?

Nope, I'm on 20" Coventry Hornets now. I'll take a pic later.

And I wish I could have made it. I hate being the only Jag in shows.

Cool - yeah a pic would be great Michael!

At least if you are the only Jag in the show, you are unique from the rest. Glass half full eh...

I had tohave the tranny replaced at 40K cause somehow some radiator fluid got mixed intothe tranny fluid, something about a heat exchanger or something? They replaced both the tranny and the radiator, flew the tranny and radiator both in from the Coventry plant in England. Will try to post some pics this weekend, this is my 5th Jag love it the most even though it has had more hiccups than the others.
