Hello. I know someone who is selling a set of 20" chrome/black rims for a good deal. The rims and tires are brand new and I told him I will buy them only if I test them out myself and they fit with no rubbing or anything. I like them because my S-type is black and they are chrome with black blades so they will look nice. He's going to let me borow them and I'm going to have a friend of mine who works at town faire throw them on and test them out. Has anyone been able to do 20"s without problems on an S-type?....The rims are 20x8.5 and the tires are 225/35/20, the bolt pattern is universal. Think I have a shot?

Also, I forgot to ask, how do you tell what the offset is on the rims/tires? My friend at town fair looked up the S-type and said the offset should be 35 or 40 but I couldn't find the number that indicates the offset on the tires when I looked at them....I never had rims before so I'm still learning about what is wheel backspace and offset and such, so can anyone educate me on what the correct offset is for our S-types and how I figure out if the tires are right? Thanks.

Dang you are doing big thangs Smooth. I don’t know how you can tell what the offset is, follow this link to http://www.tirerack.com/, it will tell what fits the S. You can take it to a shop they should be able to tell you what the offset is, I hope this helps.

the offset has to do with the wheel, you cud find out what it is from the guy ure buyin the wheels from, or take the wheels to a shop. Its a good thing that you get to try out the wheels before you buy. mak sure you test if they rub when there are people sitting in the bak and u aregoing over a bump. Also on the S's ive seen some where the front fender has been pulled out a little cos of the tire hittin it. Thetire is pretty low profile, so im guessin you should be ok. Oh and black rims on a black jag will look sik
