Flasher unit location

Wiring diagrams here, see figure 08.1 or .2:

The lights are controlled differently than most cars. Power is supplied to the positive side. The control module switches the ground. Most cars are the other way round.
Have you checked for power at the center contact of the wayward light?
Also, exactly which light is inop? Per the wiring diagram, the headlight assembly contains one dual-filament bulb and one single-filament bulb. A third single-filament bulb is all by itself and called a repeater. I think this is located aft of the front wheel. Each of these bulbs has a separate power supply.

No such critter. The "flashing" of the front turn signals is controlled by the Front Electronic Module.

Again my thanks for taking the time to reply and make suggestions. Have a great day.

Are you still getting a warning message?
Try swapping the new bulb with the known-good one from the opposite side. See if the fault follows the new bulb or stays in the same location.

I tried your suggestion and no the fault did not follow. Thinking I may bite the bullet and take it in to a dealership nearby. Thank you anyway. Have a great day.

Checked it, and the holder is in excellent condition. The lamp works when headlights are on, it just doesn't flash, and I have the failure warning on the DIC. Thanks very much for the suggestion. Have a good day.

This is a very unusual fault. Please keep us posted with what the dealership finds. It's not very common for a computer module to fail. Most faults are typically external, such as wiring problems, etc.
Just to confirm, when you swapped the suspect (new) bulb to the good side, you had also installed the known-good bulb from the good side into the malfunctioning side? I want to make sure we haven't overlooked any simple things.

I finally have an update after weeks of working with a local Jag enthusiast to try and source the origin of my issue. All of my front turn signals eventually failed in sequence. His suggestion was perhaps a grounding issue since ALL of my front turn signals failed within days of each other.
I bit the bullet and took my car in to the dealer for service. They determined that there was a ground short at the Front Electronics Control Module. Had to wait another week before the module was sourced from the UK (I'm in Canada). My sphincter was violated to the tune of $1600+taxes CAD. All is now functioning.
I did learn along the way that corroded grounding points are common in older models, and are frequently a source of problems that can be self repaired by more experienced and technically savvy enthusiasts.
Thanks to kr98664 and M-e-l-l-o-w for trying to help me with this. Hopefully my lesson learned can save someone else the expense and inconvenience that I incurred.
