RE: Flat battery
Well, i'm gonna guess it's the orginal battery?? If so, it's 6 years old?...and a good life it had too....time to put it to rest kit.
On an average, the life span of a battery is 4-5 years. Some will go past that, but you will be asking for trouble...I'm gonna guess your dead battery issues are due to your battery wanting off life support.
If, on the other hand the battery is fairly new, I would do a draw test. This is where you disconnect the positive post and use a test light (or multi meter) in seires with the positive post. If the test light lights, you have a good 12 volt draw which indicates a dome light, trunk light, or maybe even a short in the sytem somewhere is killing your battery.......
Hope this helps..

RE: Flat battery
Just reeling you in bro, reeling you in . Lol
Checked my battery connections and the pos+ was a wee bitloose. Don't know if it will make any difference but we'll see shortly. Have been using it all weekend to see what happens.
Booked in for heater valve replacement and expansion tank renewal so the last thing I need is a new battery to pay for.

HA HA! Racer, he got your blood flowing! LOL! A loose terminal could definetely be a problem, but it depends on how loose it was. S-types don't take but a AAA duracell battery to start them so a slightly loose terminal should start the car right up! With the loose terminal were you getting anything lighting up on the dash!

A lose terminal will definently do it....but it sounds like your battery is gonna go to the nice place where all the good batteries go.....
