Floor mat color

Could someone tell me the name of the floor mat color I should be looking for? I have a 2003 S Type with the sand interior and the original mats were missing when I bought the car. The carpeting looks to be a medium to darker brown. I thought sable was the right color until I checked some of the dealer sites. Their description states sable with (tan) next to it. The last time I checked, sable was not even close to tan - one is dark and the other light. Is this just a misnomer or are the dealer replacement mats actually tan rather than sable?

Speaking from experience, I suggest you get black floor mats. They are much more forgiving regarding everyday wear-and-tear. Light tan or sand-colored mats start to look shabby very quickly, even with the best of care. You can't go wrong with black mats. My wife's Lexus has a sand-colored interior, and I went with black mats from day one. She's tough on her interiors (tracking in dirt and debris), and those black mats make the clean-up process every couple of weeks much easier on me. Plus, they look great with the sand-colored interior....

If you want to know the factory colours etc go to the jag web site and email their customer services your VIN, asking for the full build details, mentioning your particular issue of interest and cross your fingers. Tends to work.
You can also try asking any franchise nicely and many will print them off free.
