Default Floppy vanity mirror lids

OK< the 14th problem with my 07 Stype-the lids on the visor vanity mirrors need a viagra infusion as both of them won't stay open. Both work, the visors themselves need recovering as does the headliner form the Miami heat. Anything I'm missing on this 10k mile car? Common problem? I couldn't find anything in advanced search.

your not the only one .when i got my s type one of my mirror covers was in the glove box , and the previous owner just unplugged the wire in the roof to stop the light going . the other cover needs accurate propping to make the light go . and both have the upholstery separating . i purchased two like new visors from ebay for $250nzd shipped.
in the photo they looked the same color as mine and were labeled cream . so i assumed my hood lining was cream .
when they arrived it proved to me that my hood lining is in fact dove grey
was thinking of spray dying them black .but still have not done any thing with them.

If link doesn't work try copy and paste if that doesn't work, look in the How To Guides.

Try practicing dyeing them with Annie Sloan's Chalk Paint®. You'd have to make the color by blending 2 colors but it's amazing paint for anything.

Or, pay a pro shop to recover them. i just got a quote, on the high end I think, of 95USD in a matching material.

Good thing I'm not vain!

There are two springs on the back side of the mirror flap !
You can prise the whole plastic mirror/light lenses/flap&surround from the visor ,
Obveastly to replace bulbs that fail .
Make sure you open the flap before prising the cover off or you may break the light switch leaver off ! Start by rolling your fingers under the edge of the mirror frame and un clip both top corners then release the top center clip , I suspect one of your springs are bent or dis lodged !

Light switch leaver stiking out of center , it is in the way if the flap is closed , open flap befor prising cover open!

Steel spring at both top corners

Excellent Data, many thanks-will tackle it next on the list of things to do.

And also Joyce, a great find but thankfully my pivot posts are still intact but will keep in my back pocket if ever needed.
