Default Flyby Video Clip with new "Mafioso" intake

Installed Mafioso intake a couple of weeks ago and just got around to resetting the ECU. Took it out and could not believe the difference in power and sound. So had to make a short video of a fly by so everyone could get an idea of the sound difference.

Daughter says she punched it at 35 and passed me doing 90 and shut it down right away but still flew past 95. She came back grinning from ear to ear.

Mafioso Intake. Thats what it sounds like now that the air going in isnt going through all the silencing chambers.

Nope the mina is an open element filter. Mafioso's uses the stock air box so you dont suck in the air from the engine compartment so its not getting the hot air like minas. It is also ceramic coated so it helps keep the air cool. It straightens the air coming into the supercharger which is where the more power is gonna come from. He did a dyno in an old post with a prototype that got 13hp I believe. If you look at the stock pipe there are all the pipes coming off of it which is what silences the air coming in and takes some power away.

That sound is very X300 XJR despite using different engines . Compressor noise is smothering other sounds

That was so awesome. And great quality too. What kind of camera where you using?

Am I the only one who was reminded of this with that great sound?

Wow! That blower is recieving a much quicker intake charge. The mechanic recieved my STR last night for the elbow and NGK plugs install. Then goes on the 3 lb pulley. Great job on video too.

Nope, no dyno run yet. That may blow my cover with the wife since I justified the intake as a way to get better gas mileage. I knew she did not buy that excuse but gotta at least put out that impression for a while.

The only changes are a K & N drop in air filter with a Mafioso intake.

It is a Canon Vixia HF10 HD. You can pick them up fairly reasonable now, especially compared to what I paid for it when it first came out. Kinda like buying a Jaguar

Love that whine!! And you will notice a nice mpg increase if you can keep your foot out of it.

On the kick down it really intimidates people that try to race me in Dallas they usually tend to back off right away.
Most people see the R and think rice. The whine makes them think twice lol

PaleRider,

Very intimidating whine, I like it....

By the way, I'm wondering how far away you are from the great Leon Russell's house in Grand Lake of the Cherokees. I was blasting the Master of Space and Time just last night from my home audio system....

Oh god... That and a real exhaust would just be intoxicating...

Although it probably kills some of the "sleeper" effect of the car.

I must get an STR now... (I've been working on it for a while).

Take care,

George
