Default Fog light bulb replacement

I Just finished fixing my drooping headlights (thanks Brutal) and now I've decided to change out my fog lights to yellows. I picked up a set of PIAA yellow ions and wanted to know the easiest way access the bulbs.

No, you don't need to do that.... Darn it, no JTIS when I need it!

The Jag fog lamps can be changed by pulling the trim on the front of the bumper and removing the whole lamp. It is much faster then removing the front wheel well liner.

I changed mine on the 05 I had. I changed the bulbs while servicing the car. Took the front wheels off and removed the inner liner. With the liner out you had a clear shot to the bulbs. Then a rock cracked one of the lamps and I had to replace it. Pull the surround trim and the lamps screw in from the front. Super easy to change. I used that same method to change the bulbs after that.

Do a search on this forum section and it should come up. Maybe someone with JTIS will also chime in...

I wanted to change to yellow leds in my fogs. After removing the halogen bulb covers I discovered i had no juice to the bulbs. I hot wire the fogs to the headlamp wires.

Probably not a good idea. Many reasons why. For one, the bulb circuits are monitored.

Not on the S Type either. But the circuit loads are monitored for bulb replacement (why you need to add a resister to some lamps when changing to LED's).

Also, not a good idea to "tap" into a circuit, any circuit, to run fogs. All fog set-up's I've seen run their own relay. Again, you are putting too much on the headlamp circuit.

It's your car so feel free to do what you like. I'm just pointing out why I wouldn't recommend another user do this to their car.

Your comment is redundant. Repeating the circuit is monitored but never saying how.
Relays just switch voltage. They are cascaded. They do not monitor. Led's have built in resistors to operate internally. So if i follow you, when a bulb burns out a difference in line resistance will effect another component? Explain!

Read JTIS and its circuit diagrams or go on jag's TOPIX.

Not an electrical expert, just know that just about any time anyone here has tapped into circuits like you are telling them to has led to major issues.. Again, this is the S Type section, maybe the XK8's are totally different (yes that was sarcasm). My point in rebutting your post is that many users come on here for sound advise. I just don't think that is sound advise for others.

Again, your car so your choice.. I'm sorry if you are getting angry BTW..

Was my way of saying it sounded like a bad thing to do and for multiple reasons. But he knows all, apparently.

I thank you all for your input. Although, I only received anecdotal warnings without specific knowledge or technical references, I changed the power source over to the marker lights.
I apologize for posting this in the wrong forum topic thread. It was not my intention to disturb such knowledgeable and well formatted minds.
