Free Window Trim off a 2008

I'm not putting this in the For Sale thread because this is a for free give-away.
I have the entire set of side window bright trim pieces to give away to anyone who wants to come and get them (two of the sections are much too long to bother packing for shipment - and too fragile).
This bright trim is really in nice condition, with only a little of the usual "milky" deterioration apparent if you look at a few sections very intently at the right lighting angle. It just wasn't good enough for my 2008 S-Type, which took the 2011 JCNA National Concours championship in Class D-11 (9.991 avg score). The dealer had replaced this trim with brand-new trim under warranty, so it cost me nothing, and I am passing on the savings.
This is off a post-facelift car, so I am not sure if it will fit the pre-2002 models.
Oh, I am in Aiken, SC (near Augusta, GA).

Sorry, I am unwilling to ship. The longest trim pieces are too difficult to pack, and too fragile to pack properly. Even the dealer who replaced the trim had to get a second duplicate set of brand new trim because the first set was damaged in shipping - even Jaguar Parts is unable to pack this stuff properly. Unless someone comes to pick up the stuff, it will remain in my attic.

BUMP.....
I can't believe that no one wants to come and get this complete set of window bright trim off a 2008 S-Type for the nice round price of ZERO dollars.
The trim is in rather nice condition since it was taken (in Jan '12) off of the 2011 JCNA National Concours Champion in Class D11 (avg score of 9.991).
C'mon. The trim is just sitting in my attic. Did I mention that it is FREE?

Nice of you to offer it up to the first guy who rings your doorbell, but there may be no forum members within what they consider to be in-range driving distance from you to make it worth their while....
Plus, the trim has known clouding issues as you are well aware. There are ways to deal with it. I keep a coat of wax on ours. It stays decent-looking for a couple of months. Longer in cold weather and shorter in hot weather....

Oooooooh. But then you would also have to find the bright trim for the front and rear of the car. Leave it to Jaguar to offer a special package where they just recycle the trim from the cheaper model onto the more expensive model, and charge extra.....but, it's rare. On the other hand, on my 2008 4.2 NA Satin Edition, they did the converse - STR nose, Vulcan wheels, STR shifter knob w/o the R logo, piped seats, rear blind, navi, upgraded carpets, all standard. They must have been emptying the parts shelves along the assembly line for the last of the series. Love it!

Though the made-in-2007 may have been called 2008MY for all I know!
My understanding is 190 were made in 2007 for worldwide 2008MY.
edit: final VIN (may well be non-STR) may be N91220

That was 129 STRs in 2007 in the UK. Not convinced the exact same number were made for the USA in 2008 bearing in mind none were made that year AFAIK.

That would be totally true and expected. Globally in general all automakers produce a model 6 to 9 months earlier than the calendar. For example, 2012 model cars will be produced from August 2011 to June 2012. Normally there is a 2 to 4 week production slow or break for maintenance during the month of July. I work for a tier 2/tier 3 supplier to the automotive manufacturing and our two slow periods are the end of December for holiday breaks and during July when plants shut for retooling. So, normally when a plant gets a new car they will wind down production then retool ahead of time.
On this "other forum" I lurk on, people actually shop VIN numbers, knowing that the early build of a certain Chrysler product in 2004 had some serious issues....While others seek the "first" built of some...

I wonder where around Birmingham the last of the US 2008 S-Types were stashed for the three months before they were exported. As a counter-point, our 2009 BMW 335i Coupe was built in July 2009. So even if our S-Type on paper is only one model year older than the BMW, in reality it is a car that is 25 (!!) months older than the 335i. That's not to say that the S-Type is loved any less. In fact, SWMBO has told me that she would have my guts for garters if I even think about selling the S-Type (and we just extended the warranty coverage to 10 years/105,000 miles). This Satin Edition V8 S-Type is a keeper!
