Default Front Brake Pads source

I am looking for a source/vendor of the Front Brake Pads for my '05 S-Type 3.0 (other than the dealer who quoted me $168.00 for a set). I tried Rock Auto, Car-Stuff, and Napa so far. They don't have the style I'm looking for--the pads have a spring that looks like a clothes pin spring that's spread open. It's mounted on a pin at the top of each pad. Can someone point me in the right direction other than the dealer? Thanks.

Are you sure the FRONT brakes have the spring mentioned- only the rears do on my 2003.

I have a set of Duralast Gold CMAX front pads. Came with all the hardware and a lifetime warranty, I wear em' down I get new ones.

Cost: $70 a set.

I have a lifetime warranty on my Wagner ThermoQuiet brake pads, front and rear. Ordered them from rockauto.com and also claimed the rebates Wagner was offering at the time. They may still apply since Wagner seems to run some sort of rebate program all the time. After rebate, my S-Type pads cost me maybe $35 per axle at most. Great pads - the fronts have done nearly 40,000 miles, are not even halfway worn down yet, and are still silent as a tomb....

Mikey, Thanks. I am going to double check that as it's been at least 3 years since I last changed the front pads. I just seem to remember them being the same design as the rears.

Thanks for posing the question Mikey. After double checking, sure enough the front pads ARE different from the rears. I had the right pads from Rock Auto all along. The bad news is my short term memory is not doing so hot. I could have sworn they were just like the rear pads!
