Default Front end bushings or control arms?

Mechanic said I need new control arms. Can't I just get new bushings and ball joints? Anybody know Jag part#s? LS part#s? It shakes really bad...

What exactly is wrong with your vehicle and which parts were you told it needed? The ball joints are not sold separately by Jaguar as service parts but come as part of the upper control arm or suspension upright in the case of the lower ball joint.

There are aftermarket suppliers for the lower ball joints, which can be pressed into the suspension upright by a competent machine shop. The upper ball joint is, to the best of my knowledge, only available as part of the upper control arm for the 2001 S-Type 3.0 Litre.

You are in luck because the LS is identical to your 2001. Now be a bit careful as there are some differences between the 6 and 8 cylinder cars. RockAuto carries a lot of these type parts.

He said the lower control arm bushings were worn out, and that they didn't sell just the bushings so I'd have to buy the whole control arms.
I can press them (old out / new in), so I'm wondering if someone knows of a replacement bushing that will fit?

I'm not sure if there are 2 different sizes on the lower front arms so I bought 2 of these bushings for my lower front arms. (Partstrain.com - part# W0133-162123, the description says larger front bushing)?
If all four lower front bushings are the same I'll just buy 2 more, if not can anyone tell me the part number for the other size and where to buy? I also need part# for lower ball joint.

In looking at the picture on the Definitive wishbone thread it looks like I got the larger bushing. Anyone know the part# for the smaller one?
Maybe a Lincoln LS part#?? p.s. (my lower control arms look like the pics at rockauto.com for an LS, not in the wishbone thread).

Bear in mind the UK forum is unlikely to mention Lincoln LS parts as the car isn't sold in the UK.

The mechanic installed the part. It fit perfect and he said that he had to undo the strut to install it.
