Bushings S-Type 2000
Thanks for the tip about the bushings. I too am having a clunk sound when going over any kind of bump at low speed.
It turns out there is a dealer technical service bulletin about this. (attached)
I am going to try and replace the bushings and put in the correct bracket. Will report back once it is done if this is a success.

Ok, here's the deal. It turns out the the noise wasn't the bushings at all. Thanks to doing some more research, and thanks to my regular mechanic, it turns out that this was the problem: I had recently gotten my brakes done, and the idiot didn't replace the clips with the pads, so they were clanking all over the place. Thanks to this thread
https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...ad.php?t=24013
which really helped me in figuring this whole thing out. And of course, thanks to my mechanic, who confirmed that this was indeed the problem.
Now, of course, in being prompt, I ordered some bushings for my 03 S-Type that I no longer need. I was going to return them to the shop I got them from, but I figure I'd offer them to the members here first (for a discount, of course). It's one way I can say "thanks" to this online community.
Here's a link to the exact bushings that I bought:
http://www.carpartsdiscount.com/auto...ml?3593=105202
The 2 bushings cost $110.90 plus shipping via the website. If you want these bushings, I'm asking $100 even, and I'll ship them free.
This offer is good for exactly 7 days from today, and if I don't sell them here, I'm just going to return them and get a refund.
Please send a PM if you are interested.
Thanks again to all who helped me solve this noise issue.

fACTORY SWAY BAR MOUNTING BUSHINGS 2000 4,0
Car had a suspension clunking noise coming (misleadingly from under left driver's seat/floor whether right or left wheel hit the bump. At 48K miles it still had the 2000 factory sway bar bushings (mounting slit through flat).
Bushings looked fine on inspection...non-jag mechanic said it would be a waste of money to replace. Per Service Bulletin replaced w/ new design (radial slit 90 degrees from flat) -- pair $39.00 on ebay. 2.5 hours labor ..... heating valve/pump removed/remounted rather than flexing tubes/hoses to displace in order to access right bushing.
OUTCOME: Clunk is gone...its silent again!
$250 including coolant replaced/renewed.

I have an 02 s-type that fits in this range of this bulletin and I want to know if anyone can tell me how to tell if this has been fixed on my car already. I am getting the click and when I push on the front fender with my ear near the upper arm, I can hear the click and it sounds like it's coming straight from there. So, I guess I need two questions answered as I've seen a few suggestions on here.
1: Can I tell if the bulletin has been done
2: Can I replace just the bushings or do I have to do the whole arm?
