Default Front (rear) Lower control arms

So after some checking of potential knocking and juddering from the front end it was determined that the bushes which attach to the front shocks are in need of replacement. This is via the rear control arm (lower) See picture.

I am going for the replacement of all 3 both sides. However what is an issue is how you remove the bolt from the sub-frame. The workshop manual simply says remove nut and bolt. You can maybe see that the bolt will only go so far and then snags the sub-frame. Is there a trick here or am i missing something? The workshop manual shows these the other way round and if you drop/lower the steering rack the bolt should come out with ease. Im hoping that someone will have come across this before and its a simple one to sort?
