How's it going guys? New to the forum, I just purchased a 2003 S-type R and loving every moment with it. Only problem is, front speakers in the door panels are blown. I spoke with a stereo shop and they said since I have the factory navigation system with the alpine premium sound, if I upgrade to a different type of speaker all the factory wires would have to be re-wired. Is this true? If anyone has replaced the factory speakers please let me know. Thanks in advance.

Chit I hope not? I would check with another shop, this just doesn't sound right. No pun intended. I just ordered 2 sets ofInfinity Kappa682.7CF, I'll ask my friendwho will be doing the install and he owns his a stereo shop. I'll give him a call and ask him, so stay tuned.

Sorry itās taken me so long to get back to you, but I thought someone would have chimed in by now. Well talking to my buddy, the only problem he could think of us just making sure that you match the ohms to the Alpineās, for example if the Alpines OEM speakers are rated at 4ohms get some aftermarket speakers that are 4ohms.
Iām planning on upgrading my front, back door speakers, & adding one 12ā subwoofer in the truck. My install will be more difficult because Iām adding two amps so I will need to rewire my speakers to the amps.
