After much careful but thorough cleaning and re-cleaning as well as taping and re-taping of the throttle body and it's associated electrical connections for the last year 2 years since I've had this 05 S-type V8...the villain, known as trouble code P2135 has reappeared, just in time for the hot humid conditions here in Atlanta. For the last 3 days I have read numerous articles and posts on this forum and throughout the web of countless customer problems concerning Limp mode/restrictive performance problems no matter what jag model or year, an have come to the conclusion that this, indeed, a well known issue for jaguar services and quite a major money maker for the company...at the expense of a loyal customer base. Seems that every jag car will be affected at some point with limp mode problems and jaguar, as a company, has not improved the issue regarding this because of the almighty dollar or pound.

For what it's true value is...a 2005 S-type 4.2L n/a at 126,500 miles, I'd probably come out better trading the car in and losing a few dollars than to put down $1500 to $1700 for a new throttle body with a 12 month warranty on the part, only to experience limp mode again in the near future as some owners have stated. I am frustrated because this restrictive issue is more of a safety issue for me than anything else. Who wants to drive along an all of a sudden lose your acceleration power and go coasting with a big 18-wheeler bearing down on you from the rear, plus the embarrassment of driving a premium marquee vehicle and having it limp slowly along...just venting.
