Default Fuel problem - car will not start (Fixed)

I have a 2001 3.0 S-type and the car will not start.
The things I have done so far, I have replace the pump, checked all fuses and relays, and car still will not start. I have checked the fuel pressure on the fuel rail and their is no pressure. I have not replaced the fuel filter yet, but I was hoping someone could help me out with this issue

Does the pump run at all?

Have you checked the inertia switch?

Any sign of damp/water in the trunk? (Look everywhere, especially under the spare.)

What happened running up to this? Car left for a while? Battery flat? Work done? What (if anything)?

BTW, you won't be loved for posting the same thing more than once!

The inertia switch is still press in. The pump is running, or at least when I put my hand on top of the hole, I feel the vibration. I drove the car to work, the temp outside was in the high 90s. At the end of the day I got back into the car to drive home, when I crunk the engine the car was running rough. I figured when I go on the highway I could blow it out. Well the car ran rough all the way home. When I shut off the engine, the car would not start back up. That is what happen

You must swap in a new fuel filter...likely severely clogged.

The fuel filter is located behind drivers side fender skirt. Access it by pulling out the plugs that hold skirt closest to the rear of the tire. Pull away skirt and observe filter at rear of wheel well, against chassis.

you could check this out I found it on another forum
Hi, not sure if it is the same problem but I had similar recently.

Having checked my oil I started the car (3.2 6) which ran for about 60 seconds just fine, then my mobile rang so I turned it off went indoors and forgot about car till two days later.

My car is old but has been fully main dealer maintained all its life and usually starts so well that you hardly hear the starter motor. This time it made a hideous screech and the engine wouldnt start. It sounded so bad that I couldnt bear to run it for more than about 5 seconds and assumed that the starter motor gearbox had died.

RAC man came to tow it to garage but luckily for me he had a theory to test first.

I had mentioned the 60 second run earlier that week. He explained that the RAC have on record an advisory from Jaguar that occasionally this situation may flood the 6-cyl causing 'bore wash' and total loss of compression. Sounds scary!!!

Cure is 5-10 30 second cranking sessions with no throttle, pausing for 20 seconds in between. IF it fires you must only allow it to rev to about 1200-1500 for a few mins, even if it sounds lumpy. The bores are so raw at this point that you can damage the engine PLUS all the unburnt fuel can 'quench' your CAT and give more problems. He explained the awful noise was the normal sound of the big engine being cranked without starting, something most owners have never heard.

We followed his plan and sure enough on the fifth session it lumped into life on a few cylinders, sounding like a dodgy tractor. It was tempting to floor it but nursing the throttle just to keep it going had all up and running in about 30 seconds. He was expecting huge clouds of white smoke but luckily that didnt happen.

After 5 mins idling he gave the advice every Jag owner wants to hear 'take it for a long run, gentle at first then high speed to get the CATS really hot!

Well, replacing the fuel filter did not help. I put some starter fluid into the intake and the can started and ran until the fuel from the starter fluid ran out. Now back to the drawing board. I guess, I will pull the fuel pump again and hook it directly to the battery to see if its really pumping. Man, this car is driving me crazy

I guess my next step is to replace the FUEL PUMP MODULE ASSEMBLY because I have replaced everything except that. Yes, the pump is running because I took it out of the tank, plugged it into the connector, turn the inition switch to on and the pump is pumping. So I guess I must have a hole in one of the three lines that is connected to the pump assembly. Any suggestion are welcome

I have finally got the car running again. I had replaced the fuel pump, fuel filter, checked all the fuses but I still never got any fuel pressure at the fuel rail. Well, after trying everything I decided to force fuel into the fuel line. So I went to Walmart and purchased a pump similar to a turkey baster. I took out the stem core from the pressure relief valve on the fuel rail, put a rubber hose on the pump and then forced fuel into the rail. I left the pump connected while cranking the car, but it still did not start, so I pumped more fuel into the rail until it did not take anymore. I reinstalled the stem. I put gas into the intake at the throttle body. I cranked the car, and it started. It ran ruff for a few minutes but after a few minutes it smoothed out. I drove the car for about 30 minutes to make sure it wasn't just the fuel burning out the fuel rail that I put in.
